Recital Info
To determine when to be at the auditorium:
Check the recital line-up posted on the wall at the studio following Spring Break. At dress rehearsal, every student should be in full costume and make-up. Label all costumes and shoes to avoid confusion of ownership. In past experience, using a storage box or bag with the students name on it helps.>
It has not yet been determined whether the auditorium seating will be granted to us this year during rehearsal. However, if we receive permission, you may take pictures/videos inside the auditorium. Cameras are NOT permitted in the auditorium during the actual recital. At dress rehearsal, we try not to run through numbers more than one time. A rehearsal is NOT the time to learn the routine, but to get perfection on lighting, music and stage spacing. There are exceptions if it is an extra large number or we have a problem with music or staging.
Stage Make-Up
Stage make-up consists of:
Cheek color: Pink or Rose, Eye shadow color: Blue or Green, Lipstick color: Red.
Make-up is necessary on all students so their facial expressions will not fade under stage lights. Competition students use shades of browns for eye shadow.
Recital Night
Parents, please make sure your child is in the back hall eight (8) numbers prior to their performance. After they have performed, you may pick up your child in the back hall. At that time you may take them back to their seat to watch the rest of the show. They again, will line up three (3) numbers before the finale. We strongly request that all students take part in the finale. For the finale, the students may wear the costume of their choice. Please do not let your child run through the auditorium. During the recitals, students are not to be seen in costumes in the auditorium. Therefore, bring a cover-up for your child to wear, such as a large shirt or robe.
Video and Cameras
This year we are having the recitals filmed by a videographer. In order to present our parents and students with a professionally taped show, NO video or flash cameras are allowed in the auditorium on recital night. We ask that you do your picture taking and filming at dress rehearsal. This will ensure a more enjoyable recital night for all involved. You may purchase the recitals by placing your order in the lobby with the videographer.
